Cognitive Symptoms of Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia can cause cognitive symptoms that affect the way a person’s brain learns, stores and uses information. Cognitive symptoms may come on gradually and overlap with negative and disorganized symptoms of Schizophrenia. They often go unnoticed until after the original positive symptoms are treated. A person experiencing cognitive symptoms of Schizophrenia may have impaired executive functioning, short term memory problems, and attention deficits.
