This Phase 3 study is a randomized, 28-day, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial designed to assess the safety and efficacy of Brilaroxazine (RP5063) in subjects experiencing an acute exacerbation of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder characterized by significant disruptions in thought processes, perceptions, emotional responsiveness, and social interactions. The trial aims to evaluate how well Brilaroxazine alleviates symptoms during the initial 28 days of treatment compared to a placebo. Following this period, participants will have the opportunity to enter a 52-week open-label extension, allowing for further assessment of Brilaroxazine’s long-term safety and effectiveness in managing schizophrenia.
